Project Description

University of Arizona Health Sciences Education Building

The University of Arizona Health Sciences Education Building (HSEB) is an inter-professional academic medical and health sciences training facility in downtown Phoenix, AZ that serves multiple Arizona universities and their programs.

MWG is the engineer of record and has provided special inspections for the 6-story concrete shear wall structure. Notable features include large lecture rooms that can host 140 seats, and a Grand Canyon imitating breezeway inside the building. The building has up to 40-foot drilled piers, 20-inch shear walls, and intricately shaped exterior concrete walls. MWG worked with affiliate office John A. Martin & Associates (JAMA) on the design.
