Salt River Pima-Maricopa Detention Center

The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Detention Center is a new, Design-Build project composed of 10 operational buildings in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The structural system is precast concrete and steel roof structure with open web steel joists and steel deck, supported by concrete masonry walls.

Au’ Authum Ki, a Native American-owned construction manager and general contractor based in Chandler, and Kitchell Contractors of Phoenix joined forces on the Center, which includes 120-bed housing units for male, female, adult and juvenile inmates. Included in the 76,000-SF facility are adult and juvenile booking areas, programming areas and administration. The project was the recipient of an AIA JFR Merit Award in 2008.
