Project Description

Pima Community College Northwest Science Building Expansion

The Science Building expansion at the Pima Community College Northwest Campus was the first new building constructed in over 8 years at the college. The three-story structure accommodates science classrooms and laboratory spaces, while also housing the college’s hotel and restaurant management program and offices. Classrooms were designed to give the students a functional and practical space to learn, even including a mock-up of a hotel lobby and guest room for training and role-play for hotel management students.

At the time of its completion, the Science Building became the largest building on campus. Constructed in response to the rapid growth on Tucson’s Northwest side and subsequent increase in students, the 55,000 square foot masonry building was designed by BWS Architects with MWG providing structural engineering and special inspections.
