Pima County Courthouse and UA Gem and Mineral Museum Relocation

The relocation of The Gem and Mineral Museum was the most recent phase completed at The Pima County Courthouse; MWG has worked on several phases over the past years. The project consists of a 9,200-SF lower level, a research lab, community, and storage, and the 11,700-SF upper mail level is the Gem and Mineral Museum gallery of Exhibits.

The previous phase consisted of analysis and repairs for the roof diaphragm and the dome repair. The structural design includes arcade walkways chords, positive anchorage along construction joint between original and south addition, strengthening of north wing cast in place concrete pan joist and beam floor system, and new concrete shear walls in the west wing.
